Was it murder?

I have always wondered this, maybe you guys can help me shed some light on it. In Alma 62:36 we read this, "And it came to pass that Teancum in his anger did go forth into the camp of the Lamanites ... And he went from place to place, insomuch that he did find the king; and he did cast a javelin at him, which did pierce him near the heart." My question is this, did Teancum commit murder? Was he committing murder when he did the same thing to Amalickiah in chapter Alma chapter 51?

I always thought of it as if he hadnt done that then more lives would be lost. Kinda like when Nephi was commanded to slay Laban. Well that is just my thoughts.

We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, etc, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law. Sure he was mad, but it wasn't murder. Amen to Tanya's comment.
On a side note, have you ever looked at the pronounciation guide on Amalickiah's name?

This is the eternal question, but it is not breaking a law, if you are commanded to return a soul to his maker by the maker of that soul. God said not to take a life, but he did not say he would not want some who he thought deserved it to come home early and to do that he would need our intervention at specified times.
